In China they say that every minute an acrobat spends on stage requires ten years of training. Indeed, Beijing acrobatics shows, featuring astonishingly limber performers practicing feats of strength, balance, and skill, are a tremendous sight to behold. Though the origins of the performance art are unknown, many believe that acrobatics developed from martial arts exhibitions and date back as early as the neolithic period.
