Spring Festival
The Spring Festival happens in late January or February and falls on the first day of the new lunar month and lasts 15 days and ends with the Lantern Festival. The festival marks the new Chinese New Year.
Lantern Festival
The Lantern Festival or Yuanxiao Jie, is at the end of the Spring Festival and happens on the 15th day of the first month of the lunar year.
Dragon Boat Festival
The Dragon Boat Festival (Duanwu Jie) happens on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar.
Mid-Autumn Festival
The Mid-Autumn festival happens 7 months from the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar and is when the moon’s orbit is at the lowest angle on the horizon.
National Day
National day is the 1st October and celebrates the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949.
